Labor Day

Our Labor Day weekend turned out to be a little crazy. We planned on going camping with two other couples and their kids, but the weather decided it was not to be. Our friends had already headed up on Thursday night and the rest of us were following each other early Saturday morning. We headed out and it started to rain really bad. We still thought it was going to be fun and Lexi really wanted to ride the 4wheelers, roast marshmallows, and stay in a tent. As we were following our friends up to Payson their car completely broke down. It was a good thing we were following them because it was pouring rain. We packed everybody in our car and headed back home. Lexi was really upset that we were going back home, but there was nothing we could do about the situation. The worst part is, we couldn't get a hold of our friends who were already up at the campground. We felt so bad, but we couldn't fit everything and they needed to get their car fixed. We decided that since the camping trip had fallen through we would do our own camp out. We invited our friends over to our house that night to roast smores on the grill and eat the meal I had prepared for camping. Even though Lexi was upset we couldn't go camping, she LOVED sleeping in the tent in our backyard. Trey wasn't so sure once it got dark, but they were both troopers and we got a pretty good nights sleep.
On Monday to celebrate Labor Day we went to Red Robin (yummy), took the kids to a movie, and enjoyed some yummy ice cream from Coldstone. It turned out to be a fun weekend!!

Lexi,
Camping in the backyard is my kind of camping because you can come in and take a hot shower and use a real toilet! I think that is great that you still put up the tent and smores are great no matter where you have them!
